June 14, 2006 - GTC CEO Keith Michael Esshaki represented GTC System Inc. promoting the Citrix Access Platform at the NetSec (Network Security) Conference on June 12-13.
GTC sponsored a joint booth with our strategic partner, Appsense.
About 1000 conference attendees converged on the Appsense/GTC booth to learn more about the Citrix Access Platform and the Appsense Application Manager as a core of a robust and secure access strategy.
The conference was very successful and provided considerable exposure to Appsense, Citrix and GTC Systems.
Application Manager is the flagship security product by Appsense that protects the endpoint from malicious attacks. Application Manager prevents any non-authorized executable from running on the desktop or Citrix session.
About 80% of attacks originate internally. Users often inadvertently introduce malware into the network through email attachments, USB devices or by simply accessing the internet. Most security solutions like firewalls or other appliances attempt to protect the perimeter without solving the endpoint or the desktop challenge.
Application Manager gives administrators the power to dictate what applications can run on desktops or Citrix sessions. With Anti-Virus systems you always have to update signature files, but with Application Manager you can avoid the headache and cost of this administrative task and simply prevent any non-authorized executable from running. Unlike the Anti-Virus approach which identifies a big list of bad applications (viruses), Application Manager by Appsense identifies a short “White List” of applications that can run on the desktop or Citrix session.
Using approximately a 2.5MB low real estate agent for $30.00 per desktop (MSRP), organizations can have an effective and powerful way to stop all malware (viruses, spyware, trojan horses, botnets, etc.) from infecting the network. The desktop agent is an MSI file that can be distributed using SMS or Altiris or other distribution methods.
GTC Systems is the top partner in the western US for both Citrix and Appsense.
