The Challenge 

Implementing a Desktop Virtualization Solution using Citrix XenDesktop.

The Solution 

The purpose of this project is to implement XenDesktop to a limited number of users as a “pilot” project.  A single branch office will be used for the pilot to test the virtual desktop solution

VMware, Network, Storage and server teams will be involved in the project. All the teams will need to work together. GTC can provide support to each of these teams as needed for the design and deployment phases of the project.

XenDesktop 5 will be used and Server 2008 R2.

A new data center is currently being designed and built out in Arizona.  The server and SAN resources will be used to host the Citrix XenDesktop solution.

Thin Clients will be used at the branch office as part of the pilot for testing.

This provides many benefits, lowering operational costs with central management, provisioning, and provides better security to contracted employees as well.
